Chapple

Sadly we have said goodbye to Mrs Shakespear this week as she goes off to have her baby. It is very exciting and we wish her well and look forward to seeing her again with her new baby.

Ned, William and Wilbur have talked about them being cousins. “Well we do look alike, so we must be!” This has fitted in with our Inquiry Unit- We are all unique. As we looked to add more focus to our Show and Tell in Term 2 we will start next week with the children talking about their family. The idea being that all families are different.

The hospital is open for business and has been very busy. We hope the new RAH can cope when it ends as smoothly as Chapple Hospital. Lucy did a great job of making our new sign.

We have also had great fun talking about Space Aliens and what they are like and what they need to live- it is amazingly similar to humans.
Benji: They live up at the Moon.
Seb: Yes, the Moon.
Christopher: Need grass to live in.
But we couldn’t really think what they need to live so we turned it around and thought about what we need to live.
Adi: Water.
Louis: Air.
Lachlan: Friends.
Benji: Houses.
Christopher: A school.
William L: School to learn.
Kian: A toilet.
Spencer: Food.
Abi: Our mums.
Benji: Toys to play with.

We have also been also been developing our numeracy with work on patterning. Beads and repeating patterns have been very popular.

Also it has been great to see the children making connection with their learning. Following a PE lesson with Mr Barton, the children came back and made their own obstacle course. Please let us know of any connection/learning/interests, the children make at home and we can add them to their planning wall. mcharlwood@staff.pac.edu.au
