Cooper

Dear Cooper Room Families and Friends,

We have had a lovely time in the Cooper room over the last few days. We have had our movie day and enjoyed watching Madagascar . We also had a great time up at the Rainbow Playground with two other classes.

On Wednesday we explored primary colours and thought about and experimented what could happen if we mixed these colours together. To do this we used coloured water, paint palletes and pippettes . Here is some of the conversation that happened during this experiment...

Miss Cass: 'What could we do with this coloured water?'

Charlie P - 'If I put blue in it, it will mix to green. Like your earrings. It turned! If we put red in it, it will change to pink.'

Miss Cass- 'What other colours could we mix?'

Charlie P- 'Maybe red and maybe blue.'

Rory- 'Now I'm going to mix some. I need a bit of green.'

Miss Cass- 'We don't have any green Rory. That's blue'

Rory - ' Oh we can make some green? With lots of yellow.

Miss Cass- 'What do you notice about the coloured water?

Ryan - ' Rory added some more colour and it change because it has different colours.'

Nyanwell - 'It's turning blue and green because we added more water.'

Zara - 'Yeah it makes different colours.'

After we had done some experimenting and discovered what happens when we mixed primary colours, we used the pipettes and put some drops of the coloured water onto small cotton pads . The children enjoyed watching the colours mix on their cotton pads and many children commented on how the cotton pads looked like rainbows.

This week the Cooper children have also enjoyed playing in the mud kitchen and on the windy Wednesday afternoon we spent some time chasing bubbles outside.

We hope your children have enjoyed our Autumn Program as much as we have and we are looking forward to an exciting term two.
