Angwin

Dear Parents and Friends,

It has been a very big week in Angwin! We met Oliver’s new baby Jackson and have been hearing all about baby Tommy, Rosie’s baby brother. We farewelled our special friend Phoenix. It was fun to reflect back on all the wonderful experiences we have shared together! We will miss you Phoenix….

We have been making bread just like the Little Red Hen with Mrs Cooper’s breadmaker. It tasted quite like “The Giant Jam Sandwich” but without any wasps inside! The children have been creating a storm in the bakery. Different roles have been explored and plenty of delicious cooking! There has been lots of sharing, turn taking and problem solving going on with lots of great words used.

Poppy has brought in some chrysalis’ to share and Mrs Prest has given us some Monarch caterpillars to observe. We are hoping to see some changes very soon. The caterpillars are eating many many leaves and getting very fat and juicy.

The eagle project has continued with some amazing work done looking at the special features of an eagle. The clay eagles are beautiful! There is some documentation of our journey in the special display plinth as you enter the centre.

The children have been loving a ladybird game we have introduced. It has involved counting and subitizing numbers on the dice. The children have enjoyed playing a game with rules!

It has been a wonderful first term and I know the children have enjoyed all our varied experiences!

A big thank you to all those families whom I have seen over the term for parent interviews…. Only a few more to go early next term. The time spent listening to you and discussing your child’s progress has been so insightful and we truly value parental involvement support in our room.

Coral is looking forward to keeping the momentum going over the Autumn holiday programme. Wenting our Chinese teacher will be supporting her in the room.

Kind Regards,

Pip and Coral
