Hello Mead families and
friends,
As we
continue the journey of observing the caterpillars, we have continued to
discuss the life cycles of the Monarch Butterfly. We have two beautiful
chrysalis and four new little yellow, green and black caterpillars. Each
morning when Jaden and Ethan come into the Mead room they are so curious and
eager to discover if there are any new caterpillars. The children are now starting to predict what
will happen to the caterpillars next.

“He is going to come out of that and be a butterfly”
Patrick
“It might be 2 weeks”
Miss
Elodie made some green play doh for the children, they have really enjoyed
manipulating the play doh and a majority of them have been creating
caterpillars and butterflies.
Tuesday
was very exciting as it was Grandies day. The Mead children were thrilled and
proud to be able to show their grandparents their classroom. The children used
their loud voices as we sang 3 different songs to them! After our amazing
performance, we went over and engaged in play in the Workshop. This is a
great opportunity for the children to explore a new environment while
furthering their learning development.
In Chinese this week we learnt about an array of fruits and how to
pronounce the words in Chinese. We also pretended we were different animals,
the children really liked being frogs and jumped around the room! It was lots
of fun!!!
The
children have demonstrated strong interest this week with painting and fine
motor activities, we will extend on these interest in the next week.
Friday
we had P.E, this is always a great hit as we played with the balls,
participated in running activities and an obstacle course.
