Wilkins

Dear Wilkins families and friends,
What a great last week of term two we have had. Farewell and good luck to our friends moving up to the Cooper room next term, we wish you all the best.

This week our friends have been highly interested in building with the big wooden blocks. We have built some houses and garages for our cars and trains in the room.
To finish the term off with our final piece for our unit of enquiry, Mrs Nicole and our Wilkins friends made play-doh. They helped to create two different colours and mix them in their play to see what colour would come to the end result.

Danica – ‘It blue!’
Sienna – ‘Blue’

Paige – ‘It’s warm. Makin ello’

This week we have also been interested in letters. We have been painting with sponge letters and participating in conversation at the art table with our teachers and peers. This experience provides opportunities for our friends to practice colour recognition and extend on their own knowledge.

Sebastien – ‘sssssss for Seb!’

Zali – “T for Toby!’
Samuel – ‘this one is W for what. Here is S for Samuel!’

During the holidays we will be having some extra activities to branch off our interests in the class. Here are some important dates to remember.

INTERNATIONAL MUD WEEKWEEK 1 – please bring your child in old or spare clothes and your uniforms and shoes in their bags.
DISCO WEEKWEEK 2 - Children are encouraged to bring their own favourite cd’s and dressups.
CRAZY HAIRTUESDAY & FRIDAY WEEK 3 – we will be styling crazy hair do’s and children are encouraged to bring coloured hairspray, coloured hair ties, wigs and whatever else is crazy enough to put in your hair.
COOKING DAYWEDNESDAY WEEK 3 – children will be participating in a pizza cooking experience.
We hope you all have a nice weekend and safe holidays.

Love Miss Sarah, Mrs Nicole, Mrs Carla and Miss Ellen xxxx
