Mead

Dear Mead Room families and friends,

Our paper making is coming along nicely.  The Mead Room children spent a few more days snipping, cutting, ripping and tearing old paper and then……. we added the water.

Zahli – to make it soggy
Harry – it will be like mushy mud

We have a wealth of prior knowledge regarding paper and shared what we knew in our Morning Meeting:

What types of things are made of paper?

Harry – cardboard boxes
Tom – books
Cody – letters
Teddy – magazines
Max – wrapping paper
Millie – cards
Lucius – tissues

What can you do with paper?

Owen – draw on it
Isla B – cut it
Leonardo – paint on it
Isla D-G – make a list
Christian V – cut and trace

We have been researching paper and where it comes from in our information books and discovered that……..

Houyi – it comes from trees
Zara – its made of wood

So we will leave our big container of recycled paper and water to steep for a little while. Once it is mushy and squishy we will commence the paper making festival!

Take care of each other,
Melissa and Georgia
