Langley

Dear Langley Families and Friends,

Welcome back! We hope you all had a nice break, a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!  It has been lovely to see all your friendly faces again!

This week the children have taken a particular interest in caring for the baby dolls, they have worked together in bathing, feeding, and dressing, nursing and playing with their babies. There have been (and will be) many new baby brothers and sisters recently for some of the Langley children, we hope that they are helping around at home like they have been for their baby dolls at school.

After the holidays the children were talking a lot about the beach, we decided it would be great for the children to investigate further by setting up an underwater world in the class room. The children have been exploring photos on the overhead projector and the sea animals on the light table. Some children have even been looking at their shadows from the overhead projector creating their own sea creatures with their shadows.

While it was quiet one morning we were lucky enough to have a play in the big yard, the children loved watching the chickens, copying their clucking sounds and even working up the courage to touch them.

We would really love for you to bring in a family photo to display in the class room. This gives the children a feeling of belonging, being recognized and respected for who they are. They may also become aware of connections and similarities between their friends.

Have a great weekend,

Miss Brooke, Miss Emily and Miss Renee.
