Cooper

Dear Cooper families,

We have had a lovely and busy week in the Cooper room. We have continued our exploration of our Unit of Inquiry into Marvellous Machines. We have had a particular focus on household machines which lead us to have some cooking experiences in the classroom. We made some delicious strawberry and banana milkshakes using Miss C’s blender. They were delicious!

Identifying different colours and creating new colours has been of particular interest in the class this week. Many children have asked what happens when you mix colours together such as “red and white” or “blue and red”. This promoted us to have a colour mixing sensory experiment. We filled trays with shaving cream and added two primary colours to the cream. The children were then able to mix the cream and colours together using their hands to find out what colour they made. The children loved squishing the cream between their fingers. It was a wonderful sensory experience.

Please remember all children need to have their hat by Monday the 14th of September.

Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Love Miss Gilbert and Miss C
