Dear Wilkins
families and friends,
What a wonderful
week we have had keeping cool!
This week we have
been busy expressing ourselves through arts. We have been busy painting with
different colours and drawing with different pencils.
"Scribbles may not make any sense to an adult. They look like
a lot of lines, loops and squiggles. But these marks are very important to a
young child. They are a child's way of writing their thoughts. Drawing and
scribbling are the first steps in using the skills children will need later for
writing." - Mincemoyer, 2013
We have also been
very busy exploring our environments within the ELC. We have been busy jumping,
running, playing balls games and even sharing stories with our peers and
educators.
Next week we will
be celebrating Shrove Tuesday by cooking and sharing some pancakes between 8.30-930am.
We will be sharing some stories with the children also. We will also be sharing
Chinese New Year within the classroom and centre. If you have any photos or
anything on these two topics you would like to share with the class, please let
one of us know.
Please also
remember to bring in a family photo if you have not done so already.
Hope you all have
a wonderful and cool weekend,
Kathy, Ellen,
Courtenay and Melissa
