Wow!
What a great start to Term 1. The children have settled really well into the
increased challenges and expectation of the Chapple Room. The Mead Room has
done a great job of encouraging and developing these keen and enthusiastic
learners.
We
have started some number work this week, with the children enjoying the world’s
biggest number line.
We
read the book “The Last Tree in the City” and it inspired the children to talk
about plants and how they grow. The next day we planted some seeds to test some
of the children’s ideas.
Charlie - It
takes a 100 days for a plant to grow
Alfie - Plants
must have soil
They
were particularly interested in water and making sure plants have lots of it.
This led us on to preparing for the return of Alfie the Fish from his holidays.
We thought about what he would need and was it similar to what plants need?
In
PE we have been practising the important skill of balancing.
This
week has been great for making new friends and working on the skills of
cooperation with old friends.
Most
people have now signed up to Seesaw. Please let us know if you have any issues
with it as we will shortly be moving over to it as our primary means of
communication. Hopefully you have enjoyed the experience and we would really
welcome any feedback on it.
