Dear Langley families,
Our new friends are
continuing to gain confidence in their ELC environment and are beginning to
form relationships with educators and their peers. We have enjoyed sharing
songs during our morning meeting and it has been lovely to see the children
recalling words and actions.
This week we have
enjoyed various sensory experiences both in and outdoors. Sponges and funnels
and bubbly water proved very popular with many children as they used their
motor skills to squeeze and pour.
We continue to use
natural materials to inspire our learning. This week we’ve used bark as a new
surface to paint on and several children have enjoyed creating observational
plant drawings.
This week our Chinese
teacher Wenting introduced the children to some words and traditional items
associated with Chinese New Year. The children loved volunteering to dress up
in traditional Chinese clothing worn at this time of year. This activity
heightened their cultural awareness and sense of occasion.
Thanks to those
families who have sent in a family photo. These prove a great comfort when
children are having difficulty settling.
We hope those who have
signed up for Seesaw are enjoying getting a glimpse into their child’s day and
receiving general information about the ELC including our weekly menu. If you
have not already done so please return your Seesaw consent form and sign up to
receive updates as soon as possible.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Olly, Miss Nicole, Miss Chelsea and Miss Georgia
