Dear Langley families and friends,
This week we welcome new students Johnny, Dawson, Hunter and Arthur to
our room who are enjoying meeting new friends and exploring the ELC
environment.
This week the children have been exploring a few different methods of
applying paint to a surface. They’ve enjoyed painting at the easels using both
hands and brushes and by dipping marbles and golf balls in paint to roll them
across the paper. These beautifully bright creations can be seen hanging in our
room. Water play in and out of the sandpit has also proved very popular.
The children have also begun looking at the book “Faces” and exploring
the different features that make them. They will be looking closely at their
own faces and exploring their identities to create both drawn and collaged
artworks in the coming weeks.
Could we please request that any families with children who are currently toilet training please remember to send in spare underwear and a couple of changes of clothing in their bags. If any families would like to donate spare underwear or changes of clothes this would be greatly appreciated. We are also in need of plastic bags to send wet/dirty clothes home in.
Now that the days are getting warmer please remember to apply sunscreen before dropping children off and dress them in short sleeves and skirts/shorts as we spend lots of time outside playing.
A great start to what will no doubt be a busy and fun final term for
2018.
Have a great weekend.
Kathy, Nicole, Georgia, Tayla and Olly.
