Dear Angwin families and friends,
As the Spring holiday came to a close, we used the
opportunity to enjoy the weather and have some special play times with our
peers. We ventured into the school campus and
enjoyed the secret courtyards, hockey pitch and RED Centre during our
daily walks.
We took our mobilo models to fly them onto the air working on our
physical competencies and testing our personal limits.
The children continued
on their ongoing miniature volcano projects adding paint and more ash and lava
details. We have also added a lava play dough experiment as an additional
sensory experience to our inquiry. This found the children squeezing,
stretching and creating scenes with mini dinosaurs that supported their social
and imaginative play.
We enjoyed talking more about bottle brushes, looking
closely at the parts of the flower and made attempts at illustrating them in
detail.
Our phasmids have come full circle with the children now
engaging with the nymphs we hatched from our room nursery. They always ask for
time to hold the phasmids and also assist in caring for them by providing water
and gum leaves for food. It is pleasing to see our Angwin children growing to
be environmentally aware by opportunities to connect to their natural world.
We are eagerly looking forward to our last term in the
Angwin room and seeing Mrs Cooper back and hearing about the trips that many of
our friends have gone on.
