Chapple

We were straight back into the swing for our final term in the Chapple Room. We quickly realised that m is for music.

But what is music?

James: It’s when you bang something or sing that is music.
Leonardo: A type of noise you can make with instruments.
Sebastien: They have to have a special sound.
Sienna: You can dance to music
Liliana: You need more than one stick for music.
Haris: Instruments need to make noise together.
James: You have to keep in time.

We worked out that music is really a pattern. We had the pattern blue red red blue- Blue a long note -Red a short note. We performed a piece with instruments.

We also noticed that M is for Moon

What do we know about the Moon?

Flynn: The Moon is in space, type of night time.
James: Moon has holes in it. There might be some aliens that live in holes because there is no rain on the moon so aliens don’t need a roof.
Sam: Moon is next to the stars that means it is night.
Patrick: It has lots of moon rocks.
Seb: There are holes made from big rocks in outer space.
Jonas: Real Moon comes out in the night.
Leonardo: Sometimes it is a circle and sometimes a semi circle.

We investigated why there were holes in the Moon and why the Moon changes shape. We made our representation of how the Moon travels round the Earth.
We also produced our own artwork about the Moon.

Thank you for all of you who took part in the Seesaw survey. It was very much appreciated and has enabled us to look at our communication and assessment moving forward. It is with pleasure that we can continue with the Seesaw to the end of the year. We will look to take on board the feedback and extend its use. It will of course have an impact on the paper portfolios as their usefulness is increasingly becoming redundant, but they will still be added to, in a lesser extent, for the rest of the year.

Photo day 12.30pm Wednesday 25th October.
