Chapple

This week’s sound I was introduced by "Iggy Peck the architect.” A story about a boy who dreams about plans and designs of bridges and buildings. We looked at the plans that Seb had brought in and worked at making plans of our own. Some large trucks arrived at the buildings opposite and ever curious we went to take a look.

Pretty soon work started on the site.

Oliwer: Everything has been smashed.
Sidney: There’s a lot of bricks on the floor.
Patrick: There’s an excavator.
Tommy T: They crashed it down.
Mikayla: I saw them smash it down.

We thought about what would happen next.

Parker: They are going to rebuild it.
Sidney: It might be apartments.
Alana: An area where you can drink.
Paige: A playground.

We will continue to investigate.

Book Week gave us the opportunity to read some traditional tales which some of the children had not heard before. They particularly like the Gingerbread Man and The Enormous Turnip. They weren’t really sure what a turnip was and it became know as "The Big Raddish Thing.”

Reverand Mark came to read us his favourite stories and the old Chapple Class that are now Year 1 in the Prep School came and shared books with us.

The Reading Campsite proved a great success and it finished off with the Book Parade. A great selection of costumes and books.
