Dear Families and
Friends,
This week in the
Angwin room there has been so much co-operative play going on! It has been a
delight to see the way the children have worked together in the block corner,
the doctor’s surgery and in some incredible group paintings. Such a lot of
discussion, sharing, turn taking and negotiating has been happening! We are so
excited and have had such a busy and happy week together!
Book Week has flashed
by with many fun shared experiences! The children have loved our focus on
sharing our favourite stories and we have read many of the books as a class. It
has helped the children think about characters and what their roles have been
in the stories. Together we have enjoyed some story reading with Mr Shackleton,
the Deputy Head of the Preparatory School and then with Miss Coggins class of Year One
boys. Reading and sharing stories is such a rich way of immersing the children
in Literacy and sharing the simple joy of escaping everywhere!
The Book Parade was a
fun and colourful day, with so much sharing of our costumes and questioning
each other about what our characters were all about!
We are really looking
forward to the Big Boys Breakfast next Thursday from 8:30 -9:30am in the ELC. A
big thank you to the families who have brought in their special sharing about
Dads. We would love to have more to share before the end of next week. The
children have been so excited to make presents and draw the most wonderful
portraits of their daddies in preparation for this special morning. We hope all
our dads can come!
Kind regards,
Pip and Kendall
