Dear Mead Room
families,
We hope you had a
wonderful Easter and enjoyed the long weekend, spent with family and
friends.
Week 1 of the
Autumn school holiday program has been very productive and loads of fun!
This
week has consisted of painting, science experiments and collages, as well as a
movie morning and outdoor play.
Monday, was
science experiment day! We created bubble blowing prints by blowing bubbles in
a mix of dishwashing liquid, water and food colouring. Using straws we blew
lots of red and green bubbles. We watched them rise up and out of the container
and then placed paper over the top of the container, transferring the bubbles
onto paper.
Harry: Wow! Look what's
happening
Ming Ming: Bubbles!
Grace-Marie: I'm blowing bubbles
The Mead children
love mixing colours and experimenting with what happens when 2 colours are
mixed together. On Tuesday we mixed red and blue together with our fingers to
create purple!
Jimmy: It changes colour, it's
going purple
Cody: Mixing blue and red makes
purple
Tom: I'm mixing red and blue
On Thursday, we
kept cosy and dry inside watching Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip with
Cooper and Mattingly class. In the afternoon, we began to create ANZAC day
paintings and collages.
Have a fabulous
weekend!
