Our
butterfly finally hatched and was released. It was soon replaced by another
one, which really was the Hungry Caterpillar. It grew amazingly in just over a
week. We await its emergence.
Grandies
was a great success and it was lovely to see the generations interacting.
We
had a focus on observing outside play with the Chapple Room staff documenting
the variety of activities undertaken by the Wednesday Children. They are
certainly a creative bunch.
Our
investigation into the “Amazing World of Straw” continued with us making a
scarecrow. He was named “Mr Grumpy Grumpy Scarecrow.” The children felt that he
should not be a happy cheerful scarecrow, if it was his job to scare birds
away.
Last week the children tried to make flour from wheat, so this week Mrs
Kaur showed the children how to make bread.
We
have continued with our number recognition games which always prove very
popular.
