Can you believe we are almost half way through Term 4! We have had such fun week exploring water, practising our Christmas Songs for the carols, playing together and learning new things.
On Wednesday the children enjoyed a water experience using gelatine. We watched and waited to see what would happen to the hot water when the gelatine powder was added. Due to the gelatine needing to set overnight, Miss Renee prepared a gelatine mould at an earlier time so that children could see the final result. The children wobbled, poked and even crushed the gelatine in their hands.
On
Thursday morning a number of children decided to use the new water focussed
sensory bottles to build towers. After many attempts at building together the
children began to try independently. We had tall towers and small towers,
wobbly towers and stable towers. Belle even managed to use all of the bottles
to build a tower that was 7 bottle tall. Miss Ellen noticed that the tower was
nearly as tall as Belle so we began to measure how tall each child was using
the bottles as our markers. Before we began Belle reminded the children, “Don’t
touch it, it wobbles.”
Belle - 7
bottles tall
George - 5 1/2
bottles tall
Nash - 5 1/2
bottles tall
Ginger - 6
bottles tall
Max - 7
bottles tall
Tommy - 6 bottles tall
We will
continue to investigate measurement next week!

Reminders
- We are collecting small glass jars to use for a pasting
experience. If you have any empty jars at home please bring them in!
- Please remember to return your child’s permission slip
for our The Nativity.
- Sun Smart - Please apply sunscreen to your child before
they arrive at the ELC. We often like to play outside in the morning
before it become too hot.
