Wilkins

Dear Wilkins friends and families,

What a busy week we have had in the Wilkins class!

We continued to explore water and have extended many of our inquiries by reading books such as ‘Alexander’s Outing.’ A small group of children read this story during inside play and helped to reenact the story using the props provided. As the story progressed some of the children shared their ideas with their educators.

Tommy - He’s floating, he’s floating. You need to get more (water) please.

Max - He floating.
Grace-Marie - It’s getting bigger, the duck. He went up and up.
Harry - The water.
George - Duck
Isla B - The water made him go up. He came out.
Max - He go up.

Elsie - To float him. He’s floating all the way up to the top. The water made him.

Tarika and her family celebrated Diwali over the weekend. They kindly brought in some photos of their celebrations and we watched a short YouTube clip about this significant celebration. They also provided us with some Rangoli stencils and coloured flour to create our own Rangoli. Tarika was very proud to share this with her peers and the children loved creating their own Rangoli. Be sure to check them out.

Friendly Reminders

- Please remember to bring in a photo of your child with water. We have a beautiful collection of images already and would love to add your child’s image and comments to it.

- An information sheet about The Nativity has been placed in your child’s pigeon hole. Please read through the information on front and reverse of the sheet and return the slip provided.

- We are collecting small glass jars to use for a Christmas experience. If you have any empty jars at home that you can spare we would love to use them.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Jess, Mrs Murdy, Miss Renee, Miss Ellen and Miss Courtenay
