Dear Edgerley Parents,
We started our week excitedly with Pip, Isla’s mummy,
bringing her ambulance to kindy for us to explore. After all our medical work
in the hospital in our classroom it was fantastic to see how some patients make
their way to the hospital. We noticed that lots of the equipment we were using
in our hospital was also in the ambulance. We pretended to be patients as
Pip took our blood pressure and listened to our hearts. Thankyou Pip for coming
to visit us.
We also continued to explore how we can change light using
mirrors at the overhead projector. Then Caterina’s mummy delivered lots of
little torches for us to play with. “You know how to get rid of a shadow? You
shine a light at it!” discovered Rory. “These torches are special because they
have stars” said Caterina.
We added another element of light to our classroom as a
group of children worked together to tape a milky way to our solar system.
Finally we were able to give our globe (or a photo of it anyway!) a home
amongst the other planets. Look for all our thoughts and knowledge about the
solar system on the wall in the coming week. Next week we think we might add
some other features that the children suggested such as comets and shooting
stars.
Please remember to send a drink bottle with your child, sign
any missing signatures on our sign in sheets and check your cupboards for any
missing hats that may have snuck home accidentally.
Next week parent teacher interviews begin on Monday, please
e-mail Emma or Mel directly if you would like to pop in for a chat and have not
already let us know.
Kind regards
Mel, Emma, Cris and Satin
