Hi Langley
families and friends,
Our inquiry into
polar bears and other Arctic animals has lead us to exploring
other creatures that live in the sea. We have been identifying sea
creatures in our ocean tub and using them in our water play
outside. The children created an underwater scene using their handprints
to represent fish and later glued eyes on them. We will place
this next to our ocean tub so children can share their ideas and reflect on
their work.
We also read an
information book about coral reefs and spotted some familiar
animals.
Sebastian -
"Nemo!"
Lachlan -
"There's a octopus"
Angus -
"Fish"
Leopold -
"The obster (lobster) need to go in the water"
Also this week we
have started to discuss our thoughts about what we can see in the sky and
in particular what flies in the sky. Here is what some of us think so far:
Riani - "How
about owls?"
Eddie -
"Bye" (waving to a plane in the sky)
Oliver F -
"A bird"
Teddy - "A
bees flying in the sky"
As we were have
our discussion, a fly landed on Phoebe's arm! (*perfect timing*) We all tried
to have a close look before it flew away.
Finally, we have
started to make some Christmas presents for our families this week. There
were many helpers on hand when we made salt dough as part of the surprise.
We can't wait to share them with you!
Enjoy the weekend
