Dear Parents,
The Edgerley
children have been enjoying the outdoors and sunshine this week. In PE we made
the most of the weather and headed to the big boys playground in the Prep
school. Elyssa and Isla shared the swing beautifully as they took turns flying
through the air. Harry and William L rode the bikes, especially enjoying going
through a large puddle that had formed on the bike track. Harry was thrilled
that the water was a "car wash for the bike wheels" as he rode
through! Ryan and William P caught invisible sand crabs in the sandpit and
Archie, Rory, Struan and Ollie used an array of gardening tools to build a
house for their two snake friends, to allow these good snakes to protect the
school. Aren't we fortunate to have two snakes on guard to protect us all?
We have some
lovely new garden beds in the outdoors area. Charlie O, Zara, Struan, Aston and
Sebastian planted some seeds in the 'Edgerley plot'. They chose to plant
cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and brussel sprouts. We can't wait to watch the
progress and hopefully taste the produce.
The Christmas
Pageant sparked a lot of discussion amongst the children and with our
nativity practices taking place daily, the celebration of Christmas is causing
great excitement! We made a Christmas Tree for our room using our very own
handprints. Come and have a look!
The children were
posed the question "What is Christmas?" and responded with the
following:
Christmas is
where you get presents - Rory
And you have to
stay in bed or Santa wont come - Charlie O
You give out milk
and carrots for Santa and his reindeers - Zara
And he likes
beers! - Archie
Sometimes Santa
can't make what you ask for - Sebastien
If you are
peeking it wont be a surprise - Isla
You put Christmas
lights on your house - Hamish
Santa's nose
glows - William L
No Rudolph's! -
Rory
You have
Christmas trees - Zali
Santa puts
presents under your tree or in a sack - William P
I decorate the
Christmas tree - Lewis
Best wishes,
Emma, Mel, Cris
and Satin
