Langley

Dear Langley Families and Friends,

This week we have been very interested in exploring polar bears! Kaeshav started our investigations by informing us that he had seen some at the aquarium. A few children did not know what a polar bear looked like so we researched them on the iPad and found some pictures. Miss Carla shared a story called "My Little Polar Bear" with the children and had some great conversations. We also found a polar bear to have a closer look at.
Lucy - "Sharp teeth."
Sebastian - "The Seal."
Kaeshav - "They can go under the water."
Lola - "It's snow."

Following on from our discussions, the next day Miss Georgia made snow with us! Not real snow of course, but corn flour and conditioner came pretty close. The children have loved exploring this sensory experience with the polar bear and other Arctic animals.

Also this week, children have been creating marble run paintings. They have had to use their problem solving skills to work out the best way to manoeuvre the box in order for the marbles to run through the paint. Angus, Elsa and Alannah tipped the box backwards and forwards, while Mack, Rocco and Phoebe used the technique of shaking the box from side to side.

Have a lovely weekend,
Sarah, Georgia, Amy and Jen
