Dear Wilkins Friends and Families,
This week we had a very special visit from SeaStar Rock! SeaStar
Rock is a locally produced music and dance show for kids. It promotes
marine sustainability using charismatic characters, catchy songs, and colourful
costumes to explore the world. Since a successful live performance launch
at the Adelaide Fringe in 2015, SeaStar Rock has been performing to thousands
of children around South Australia. The children were able to join in by
following the dance moves and singing along to their catchy tunes. Thank you to
Mr Charlwood for organising such a wonderful show for the whole center.
As we are nearing the
end of term we have been noticing how much our little Wilkins friends have
progressed. Some have been engaging more with their interest in reading and we
often find them quietly looking through a book in a quiet space. Some have been
pushing their gross motor abilities and taking risks on our outdoor climbing
and balancing equipment. And others have really come out of their shell and
have begun making friendships with their peers. It has been wonderful watching
their confidence grow and some have been able to express their current
interests with their teachers in order for us to plan meaningful
experiences.
We are looking forward
to our upcoming holiday programme, please have a little look to see if we have
any activities planned on your child's days which require special dress or
something from home. Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you next week!
From Mrs Jess, Mrs
Nicole, Miss Ellen, Miss Georgia and Miss Kim
PS Miss Ellen is about
to take off on her exciting overseas adventure! We hope she has a wonderful
time and we will see her back with us in 5 weeks.
