Dear
Mead Room families and friends,
WE
LOVE SHADOWS!!
The
children are still very much immersed in the exploration of light.
We had
noticed that on the days when sunlight streams through our window in the
morning we occasionally see the shadows of people walking past. A few of us ventured outside and surprised
the rest of our Mead Room friends by suddenly appearing at the window! As they couldn’t see exactly who we were the
children had to rely on their skills of observation to deduce whose shadow was
whose!
Mikayla – we knew it was you
(Mrs P) we saw your hair!
Samuel – I saw your head
Jack – I saw your keys
Patrick
and Sienna came outside too – and the clue to their identity was definitely
hair!
Yifan – Patrick short hair
Tom T – Sienna has curly hair – we could see the shadow.
We
have been reading a book by Elizabeth Honey called, “That’s not a daffodil.”
The
children have delighted in observing the different stages of daffodil growth that
occur throughout the story. We are
planting a bulb a day to make sure that everyone can observe the bulb as it is
planted and then we will monitor the changes that occur until it is a golden
daffodil!
We had
another Dancify session with Miss Erin this week…… the Mead Room children are
very groovy movers! We will be involved in 2 more of these fantastic incursions
before the end of term.
