Mead Families
We are still deeply engaged in our unit
of inquiry, and having many conversations about change, cycles and life-cycles. To support our
investigations we have utilised ICT and the wonders of time lapse photography.
We have observed the remarkable transformation from caterpillar to butterfly,
the amazing changes experienced when a baby grows and changes over the years to
become a teenager, and when a tiny seed germinates to become a plant.
Our introduction of Show and Share this
week has also reinforced our interest and curiosity concerning the changes the
children have experienced themselves.
Kian
– I had little hair,
and I had a potty.
Max
P – A big highchair,
now I sit in chair
Banjo – I could only lie, not sit. I used to
eat smashed pear and smashed oranges. I
couldn’t walk when I was a baby. Now I know how to put my shoes on.
Scarlet
– I couldn’t talk, and
riding in a pram. I couldn’t see very
well.
We have been practicing our Nativity
song…. A LOT! And found that two of the subjects of our special contribution are
in the grounds of PAC. Gum trees and a
Jacaranda Tree. We have taken many walks
around the school to visit these beautiful specimens and get very excited every
time we spot the iridescent bloom of the Jacaranda, and from your feedback we
have heard that the children are noticing Jacaranda trees everywhere!
Happy Birthday to Christopher and Lucas
who turned 4 this week!
It is very much the season for birthdays
at present! The children have attended quite a few between them just recently
and are busy recreating the experience in our outdoor environment with many
birthday cakes being created, candles to be extinguished and fun to be had.
Happy weekend fun to you all!
