Dear Cooper Families
This
week much of the inside play has been in our new dramatic play area. Our class
ambulance turned out great and the children are all very proud of what they
have created. Since our ambulance has been put up we have had lots of
emergencies and people that need our help in the Cooper classroom. It was wonderful to see the helping other
children in the hospital when they were “hurt”. The children demonstrated their
care, empathy and respect of others through their play.
Struan
– Me got a sore arm.
Zali –
This will help. It’s going to hurt a little bit.
Nyanwell
– I made it better with the bandage.
Zali –
I drew two nights for Struan. It says he has to stay for two nights.
Ollie
– What’s wrong Struan?
Henry
– I got a sore nose.
Zali –
I need the Medical bag.
Ollie
– Struan wake up!
Struan
– Why wake up?
Zali –
How are you feeling Struan? Are you feeling better?
Struan
shakes his head.
Zali
– He says no.
This
interaction was a lovely example of the children developing strong
relationships in the classroom and understanding the needs and feelings of
others through play.
On
Thursday we had another big rehearsal in ANZAC Hall for our Nativity
performance. We all got to stand on the stage and sing ‘Santa got stuck up the
chimney’ in front of our peers. Every day we are becoming more and more
confident in singing our song.
Have a lovely weekend
Maddie and Cris
