Mattingley

Dear Families and friends,

Welcome to your first Autumn program in the three year old room! We hope that you all had a lovely Easter, we  heard that the Easter bunny visited all of the children and they have been enjoying chocolate for breakfast! We made chocolate pasta necklaces, explored chocolate playdough and made chocolate cakes.

The children have also noticed that the weather has changed and so is the environment around them.

Sophie - I found yellow and red leaves.

Isaac - Because it's Autumn, it means the leaves change colour.

Wolf - The leaves comes out of the trees next to my pool and fall in the pool!

Isla - They might fall on my house and they might bump my head.

The children have been walking around the ELC garden and the school grounds to look at the changes in trees. We created a  tree in the classroom to make it fit in with the Autumn colours, have painted trees and cut out leaves. The children have continued to care for the class frogs and caterpillars, if you look really carefully you will see we have two chrysalises now as our other caterpillar changed into a beautiful butterfly ! Kennedy named her 'Flower' and we set her free back into nature.

The children have been asking to wash Miss Bowden's car for weeks, so with the cold weather coming we thought now would be a great time.  And we ended our program with an exercise class to keep our bodies healthy and warm.

Monday will be another Autumn program day with term commencing on Tuesday, see you then!

Love Miss Bowden, Mrs Kerr and Ms W.
