Hello Edgerley Families and
Friends!
We have had an awesome week
in the Edgerley Room, as the children have engaged in a variety of exciting
activities with the children from the Cooper Room. It was great to see the
children build strong relationships with each other throughout the week, as
well as work together and interact positively.
We would like to share some
learning which was displayed by a group of boys on Thursday morning as they
constructed a zoo. They accomplished this task using the wooden blocks and
animal toys…
We need to leave the roof
open, so that the animals can get some sunlight, explained Hamish, as he
carefully positioned the blocks.
Let’s make the walls higher,
so that the animals can’t get away, stated Louis, as he collaborated with his
peers to build on their previous work.
I’m going to put the
herbivores here, and the carnivores there, said Sebastian, as he began to
categorise the animals.
As the boys engaged in this
task, it was encouraging to see them working together to achieve one common
goal. As well as this, they demonstrated an emerging knowledge of respecting
and understanding of the environment.
Thank you for your time, and
we look forward to seeing you soon.
