Cooper

Hello Cooper Families and Friends!

It is with a mix of emotions that we write this blog today, as it will be the last blog written for the Cooper children of 2016/2017. We would like to kick this entry off by thanking Miss Gilbert for all of the incredible learning which has taken place in the lives of these children over the past twelve months. The children have been extremely blessed to have such a dedicated, hard-working, and enthusiastic teacher... Thank you Miss Gilbert!

As we have wrapped up the final week of our school holiday program, the children have engaged in experiences such as exploring the rainbow playground, playing games on the school oval, and creatively using our camping-themed socio-dramatic play space. As well as this, the children were given ample time to settle into the Edgerley Room, as we spent many hours playing with one another in this new and exciting space.

Here are a few quick samples of some of the learning that has taken place this week…

  • ‘I did it all by myself!’ exclaimed Ned, as he held up his rubber band-wrapped pine cone. In doing this, Ned displayed his emerging confidence and independence while completing a fine-motor task.
  • ‘This is a castle, for my friends.’ explained Josef, as he worked with his peers to create a house with the foam blocks. As Joseph did this, he demonstrated his ability to collaborate and build relationships with others.
  • ‘Maybe this one can go over here.’ stated Tobias, as he placed a piece into the puzzle. It was great to see Tobias explaining his thought process while actively problem solving.
The children were also given the chance to participate in the plantation of our lemon tree, which was purchased in celebration of our class recycling over 100 items throughout the past term. We look forward to watching this tree thrive over the next few months, and we hope to reap a hearty crop from it soon!

Thank you for your time, and we will see you in week… in the Edgerley Room!
