Dear Edgerley Families
and Friends,
Welcome to the Winter
Program! This week Adelaide has surely experienced rainfall, wind and chill in
the air, winter is now upon us. The weather has deterred us from the outside
activities that were planned for the week. Instead we kept cosy and warm
indoors with spontaneous happenings that the children enjoyed.
We would like to wish Hamish, Will G and Rory a Happy 5th Birthday! Thank
you for sharing cupcakes with your Edgerley friends.
We were lucky enough
to have Mrs McKenzie join our holiday program Monday and Tuesday this week, she
enjoyed the wind down time together with the children.
There has been particular
interest in costume making. To extend on this we set up a making table with
various materials and masks that the children have been creatively decorating.
They have come up with Ninja masks, feather dusters to tickle Miss C with during
relaxation time and they even produced their very own Chinese New Year movie.
I asked the children
to enlighten me and explain what the movie is about…
Rory - It’s about Chinese New Year! The chicken and dragon come out to save the
day. I’m the chicken as you can tell with so much feathers and wings.
Charlie P - Chinese dragon, I create dragons and I’m a dragon girl.
Thank you to the
Angwin class for inviting us to watch the movie Stork and to share their
popcorn with us.
The third week of the holidays, Friday 21st
July is National Pyjama Day! Your child is invited to the ELC to wear their
comfy pj’s.
Next week will be my
final week in the Edgerley Room. I will be taking one week off to recharge
before I commence a new journey in the Cooper Room. Thank you once again for
the memorable ride. I will surely miss you all.
