We started the week by investigating forces in the
Rainbow Playground. The children really enjoyed looking for all the different
push and pulls they could find.
Then we did nothing! We explored the digit Zero!
Numberjacks proved a great success and the children set off on their own search
for zero, who made things disappear. The children decided to gather up zeros so
that they could not make any more mischief.
Twister proved to be very tricky and really helped us
learn our left from our right.
The mark making has continued with maps and with the
arrival of the “grown up” table, we have had to get out more whiteboards and
pens.
We have also started to work on shape and learning its
vocabulary.
We placed some 2D and 3D shapes under a blanket and the
children had to describe what they could feel:
Jack - It’s a square.
Cooper - A square is flat. Can’t have sides.
Ellie - It’s a cube.
Sam - It’s a cube and it has hard straight edges.
William R - It’s a sphere. It’s a ball shape. This one
doesn’t have sides.
Thank you for the parents who have already signed up to
Seesaw and I hope you have enjoyed seeing the first portfolio pictures of your
child. There is still time to get involved and if you have need further
assistance in setting it up, please feel free to contact us.
