Cooper

Hello Cooper Families and Friends

The children have engaged in a variety of exciting experiences as we have launched the first week of our school holiday program.

The children have all been given the chance to explore some of the new activities we have set up in the room… the table-top beach and the playdough kitchen proved to be a massive hit with them! As the week went on, the children also had the chance to participate in a rocket ship experiment, create sandy goo, decorate biscuits, and enjoy a picnic with their favourite teddy bears.

Here are a few quick examples of some of the learning which has taken place this week…

‘Here you go Ed… happy birthday to you!’ said Stirling, as he handed Ed a birthday cake that he had made in the playdough kitchen. As Stirling did this, he demonstrated his ability to act towards others with kindness and respect.

‘When there is the rocket, we will have to stand away from it, because there will be lots and lots of fire,’ explained Karl, as we prepared to undertake our rocket ship experiment. In doing this, Karl displayed his understanding of respecting rules and maintaining safety.

‘Mr Richards, I think that this is like toothpaste,’ stated Isaac S, as he squished sandy goo between his fingers. It was great to see Isaac S establish real-life connections as he engaged in play with his peers.

We would like to thank all of the families who have contributed to our recycling challenge. We ask that you keep bringing in your recycled goods, as rumour has it that we are getting very close to our goal of recycling 100 objects. Once we have achieved this goal, we will be planting a tree in our yard to celebrate our efforts in caring for our local environment.

We look forward to seeing you all again next week, as we continue to engage in our school holiday program.
