Wilkins

Dear Wilkins friends and families,

This week we have been engaging in lots of different art and craft activities. The children made some very colourful rainbow collages out of card, pop sticks, pompoms and glitter. When the sun came out in the afternoon Miss Courtenay found a big cardboard box and we took the activity outside, working together collaboratively. It was wonderful to see the children taking it in turns to paint on the glue while they recommended to each other which colourful materials to put on next.

Every afternoon the weather has been lovely and sunny so we have enjoyed picnics for afternoon tea and then moved onto various play experiences. The painting easels have been set up near our bark chip garden to inspire some beautiful art work. Near the Langley room a cutting table with an assortment of scissors has been set up to cut out different shapes and over near Wilkins we have a play office for the children to write emails to mummy and daddy.

On Thursday Miss Ellen did some yummy decorating with the children making smiley face cookies. The children had the opportunity to work with snake lollies, M&M's, marshmallows, dried fruit and lemon icing.
Tommy: "I make smarties"
Ronnie: "I make lollie bickie"
Hamish H: "Yummmmm"

Finally on Friday the last day of holidays we packed in so many fun activities and celebrated Elise's Birthday. After morning tea we went for a walk over to the big school. While we made our way across the oval we noticed the old kitchen building was being demolished by a huge piece of machinery.

Jimmy: "Flashing lights"
Teddy: "It taking the roof off"

When we were ready to move on we explored the secret garden in the big school. We played a game of duck, duck goose and had a little run around. On the way back we joined Langley at the play ground and then had a sausage sizzle picnic.

We hope you all had a great week and look forward to seeing you next week. Miss Kim is going away to do her practical experience for Uni so will look forward to seeing you in a months time. Miss Amelia will be coming in on Wednesdays and Thursdays for Miss Kim.
