Dear Chapple
family and friends,
Thankfully the
rain has calmed down and we have had some beautiful spring weather. We took
advantage of the sun by visiting the big oval, the children played their
favourite game of 'duck duck goose' and soccer whilst soaking in the sunshine. We
have also had quite a lot of water play outside which was a lot of fun. To
celebrate the sunshine further and brighten up our Chapple room, we produced
some impressive artworks of lily flower paintings.
We have been reading the book ‘Ten Little Speckled Frogs,’ the children have
shown a high interest in frogs after reading this, we created our own little
speckled frogs by using natural materials. We also created some frogs with
green play dough using googly eyes. We have also made a calming corner that
resembles a fish pond, the children have been enjoying quietly reading and
playing with their little speckled frogs in this corner.
We have also explored science experiments, where we made some volcanoes and
gloop. The gloop has been a very popular sensory experience in the Chapple room
and the children love how gooey and slimy it feels in their hands.
Other than enjoying the sunshine and various activities we have been busy
making our own book marks. These have been laminated and they are ready to use.
The children have also been enjoying gathering around the light table playing
with the magnetic blocks, which has been quite a social experience for them as
many conversations are had during this playing time.
It has been a very enjoyable week in the Chapple room full of lots of laughs,
play, artwork and enjoying the sunshine.
See you next week,
Miss Lucy, Miss Kerry and Miss Faye
