Mead Room

During our Unit of Enquiry 'Home Sweet Home', the children have shown a particular interest in nests as homes. They have collected nests from various birds and discussed  the different sizes and materials used in each. They have also questioned why some birds have nests as homes and others not. Following group discussions, they decided they would like to have a go at constructing their own life sized nest to sit in. They used a wire frame to create into the shape of a large nest and padded the sides with paper. Then they brought in an assortment of materials from their homes, to thread through the wire frame, as they noticed birds did alot of weaving of materials to make their nests. It is looking very inviting!!!
