Dear Wilkins Families,
What a big and exciting week we have had!
The children have continued their inquiry of living things and the
journey of lifecycles with our class tadpoles growing legs this
week. It has been wonderful watching the children being so involved
and fascinated by the changes they are witnessing. This week we have also
had three new arrivals to the class, beautiful brightly coloured caterpillars,
soon to be Monarch butterflies. Miss Jess was able to collect these from her
mum and we have all enjoyed watching them mould into their
cocoons. They are stunning shades of green at the moment, we are sure your
children would love to show you these at drop off!
This term the children have been very engaged in the home
corner. We have tried to incorporate at least one cooking experience into
our programme fortnightly, and this week we decided to decorate
some delicious smiley face cookies. During this experience
there was a lot of talk about where things go on our faces. We are
looking forward to having further discussions about our bodies in the coming
weeks.
Stirling: "We have two eyes"
Lotti: "Our mouth is under our nose"
Giuliana: "My mouth is green"
Isla: "I have big eyes"
Finally, Thursday was a very exciting day for the whole centre.
Our Easter bonnet parade went off with a hit and the sneaky Easter bunny left
eggs around our gardens while we were showing our wonderful hats. Thank you to
all who helped their children make their very creative head pieces. We
hope you all have wonderful Easters!
