Hi
Cooper families,
In
the lead up to Harmony Day on the 21st of March, the Cooper room
have been discussing what harmony means and what harmony looks like in our
classroom. The children’s responses were thoughtful and demonstrated their
understandings of what harmony means to them.
What
does harmony mean?
Struan
– You go to school.
Nyanwell
– You love.
Ryan
– To love people.
Sebastien
Ha. – It means that we are all friends and that we know each other so much.
Aston
– It means sharing.
Rory
– We get to paint and play with other friends.
Zali
– We all have different bodies.
Rory
– We are all different but we are not.
In
conjunction with Harmony day, we have started to create a whole class piece of
artwork to display in the classroom. Each child is able to contribute to the
artwork in any form they would like; it could be through paint, collage,
drawing etc. We will continue this through to week 8, so that each child has
the opportunity to add something to the piece.
We
have made the most of the beautiful sunshine outside this week. We have been
putting the hose in the garden outside and making muddy puddles, which became a
fantastic sensory experience by using their hands and bare feet to play and
explore the environment.
Some
of the children explored a new form of painting this week, using paintbrushes
and water to create their images. The children enjoyed painting their images on
the pavement outside and watching as it slowly started to disappear.
We
hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
Love
Miss Gilbert and Miss C
