Dear Mattingley Families and
Friends,
We have had a very busy and
exciting week in the Mattingley classroom. On Tuesday we shared a very special
book called Anzac biscuits by Phil Cummings and Owen Swan. It was a
special story about a little girl and her mummy who were making Anzac biscuits
to send to daddy who was at war. This made us think about how lucky we are, and
to celebrate we made Anzac biscuits of our own. They were very yummy!
On Wednesday when we came to school
we saw that our last butterfly had come out of its chrysalis and was stretching
its beautiful wings. We watched is practice how to move its wings getting ready
to fly, and on Thursday we released it outside in the flowers garden. While it
was still learning how to use its wings it flew to some of the long grass and
became tangled up, so together we rescued it. This was a very special moment
for Poppy and her Mummy as they carefully held the delicate butterfly and took
it over to the flowers once again.
On Friday we celebrated Miss
Bowden’s birthday by making a very yummy chocolate cake and sharing it
together. We sang happy birthday and asked what she did on her stay at home day
on Thursday (her actual birthday) to celebrate. She told us she had a very
relaxing day getting her hair done, her nails painted and going out for a
special birthday dinner. We love celebrating birthdays in the Mattingley
classroom.
Happy Birthday Miss Bowden!
Please remember that next Thursday
is our Princess Tea party. We are looking forward to celebrating our Mummies
together at this special event.
Wishing you all a very happy
weekend,
Kimberley Mason & Coral Bowden
