Dear Parents and Friends,
What an eventful week we have had! We enjoyed seeing the
Lighthorse Brigade when they visited the front oval on Wednesday, as part of
our college’s celebrations of Anzac Day and the Centenary of Gallipoli. The
children were captivated by the horses and asked some really thoughtful
questions.
We enjoyed having Mr Noble come and visit us to follow up
our interest in map making. He kindly showed us some maps and we talked about
the different colours and symbols that we could see on the maps. Then he showed
us how to use a compass and find north and south. We went outside and did some
adventuring, using our compasses to find Mr Noble!! Thank you so much Phil!
We went up and visited our new Reception room with Mrs
Cooper. We will be helping her over the next few weeks to make it our very own
room, with interesting things to explore and by starting to add our own work
too!
We enjoyed hatching 2 of our very own Monarch butterflies. A
big thank you to Max for releasing and caring for them over the weekend…. We
have one more caterpillar growing!
We finished the week making our very own apple juice, using
Mrs Cooper’s juicer and apples that James C helped to pick from the orchard.
We have been busy preparing so many special surprises for
our mummies at the Princesses Tea Party next week! We can’t wait to welcome you
all between 8:30 and 9:30am in the classroom next Thursday morning!
Thank you for all your support!Kind Regards,
Emma, Pip, Ty and Rosalie
