Dear Parents and Friends,
This week we have been so busy settling back into a very
full schedule… we have enjoyed making Anzac biscuits, thinking about our
memorial garden and the links with Anzac Day and making poppies with our
buddies. Toby brought in a wonderful book that helped us understand what it is
about too. We have drawn some pictures of rosemary and found out that the
rosemary in the school’s memorial garden, was grown from seeds from Gallipoli.
We loved spending time with Mr Noble, revisiting our
fascination with maps, looking at maps the big boys use on their expeditions.
We found out that you need to read maps! Different colours and symbols on the
maps mean different things that help the boys to know where they are and where
they need to go… We used compasses to find where north and south are and then
had to find where Mr Noble was hiding, using our compasses!
Archie: Maps help
us find treasure.
Toby: They show
us where to go fishing.
Campbell B:
Pirates use maps!
Alex: They help
us find the way and show us where to go.
James Mc: Why do
the big boys use maps?
Other highlights of our week have been preparing goodies for
Princesses Tea Party, exploring enthusiastic colour mixing on the light table
with dye and pipettes( sorry for the look of the tops!) and going on an Autumn
walk into the Prep School.
What fun we have had!
Kind Regards,
Emma, Pip, Ty and Rosalie
