Dear Wilkins families
We have been enjoying some sunshine outside this week, even though it has still been relatively cool!
The sandpit has been a hive of activity with children cooking, constructing, making, measuring, negotiating, building and, of course, smashing! We have been exploring the measurement concepts of full and empty, using our own mathematical language to share our understandings.
We created a nature kitchen next to the sand pit, allowing the children to collect items from the ELC environment to use in their concoctions. The children have been spending extended periods of time at this play space, mixing all the different ingredients together both individually and in small groups.
Please note that on Tuesday August 19th, we will be joining in our Book Week parade celebrations. Children are invited to come dressed as their favourite character from a book and bring the book along to share with their peers. We look forward to sharing in this celebration of reading with the rest of the ELC.
Best wishes,
Karla, Amy and Jess
