Dear Families
and Friends,
The Edgerley
class has been bursting with activity this week. We have been camping, baking a
luscious lemon cake, star gazing, observing tadpoles (many thanks to Hugo’s
family) and smelling lemony zesty playdough. The children have been so
expressive about the stormy weather we have been experiencing this week too.
We even
explored the boarders’ vegetable garden. We sat around on the logs and had a
look in the fire pit. Then we had a look at the different vegetables the
boarders were growing such as zucchini, cabbages and even strawberries! As we
were looking amongst the zucchini vines Mrs Cooper saw a very fat caterpillar
and lots of holes it had already munched in the leaves. We had a look for some
more and found another. They were the woolly bear caterpillars that turn into
moths! Mrs Cooper held it in her hand and we took them back to Kindy for a
closer look!
Here are some
of our reflections…
Jasper: It looks like one is brown and white
and one is brown and black.
Knox: They look like they are sleeping… I
saw one move!
Campbell: They’ve been eating leaves… there are
holes.
Sze-Yong: He has red lips. It is moving!
Louis: It has hair… It came from where Toby
lives!
Campbell: They are woolly bears!
Mrs C.: They tickled my hand.
Knox: They eat ‘cos they are hungry!
Over the next
few weeks we shall observe these caterpillars and see if they grow and change…
Have a lovely
weekend! We are looking forward to “The Cranky Bear” performance next Friday.
Kind Regards,
Pip, Emma, Ty
and Rosalie
