Week 2 in the Angwin Room came and went with a bang as our new
friends became more settled and ready to tackle the fun weeks ahead. We
farewelled last week's sound 'Ss' with the book 'A Seed is Sleepy' by Diana Hutts Aston. We
were all amazed at how little seeds can grow into very big and tall trees and
how long some can sleep before they grow and bloom again. As we read through
the book, we spotted so many 'Ss'.
We then welcomed "Aa" with a
special cooking session with Mrs. Schmidt cooking a yummy apple and apricot
cake. 'Aa' for Amazing that was! We continued our shadow hunting and we've
figured that when the sky is gloomy, we can only see a very faint shadow
following us. Here are some of our discoveries as we went for a walk around the
school on Wednesday.
"When you move, your shadow moves with you" Max said.
"How do you get away from it?" Harry P asked.
"My hair in my shadow looks very funny!" Harry L noticed
"Look! If you jump, the shadow on the ground
disappears!" Gabby discovered.
"When you move, it looks like your feet disappears",
Lily added.
We will continue our journey learning about shadow as we use our
bodies and other objects in front of our shadow frame. There might be some very
special shows and stories happening in the next few weeks.
Have a great weekend
