Dear Families
This week we have started to look at planets and our rocket
is beginning to get ready for launch in week 4. Mrs Kerr entertained us with
her shadow puppet show of “The Little Red Hen” and Mrs Shakespear helped us
with “Space Cooking." We have learnt about the eight planets in our Solar
System- poor old Pluto has now been declassified as a planet. We have looked at
our shadows and measured David’s throughout the day. We were puzzled by how
much it changed, it got longer, and then shorted and it moved too.
James S: That’s because of the Sun- if cloudy you can see
the shadows- Shadows can’t stay for very long.
Angus T: When he moves, the shadow moves.
Kai: The Sun its changes far then the morning it goes small.
The shadow gets long.
Zeke: The shadow moved, when the light moved.
As the forecast is still clear, Monday 11th
August is a chance to see a super moon. According to NASA, a Supermoon is up to 14% larger and 30% brighter.
