Dear
Mattingley families and friends,
This week
we went for a play on the Rainbow Playground. On our way back to the ELC, we
explored the Boarding House vegetable garden where the children searched for
the juicy, ripe, red cherry tomatoes. Those who tried the tomatoes said they
were delicious. We also smelt some of the herbs growing such as the lemongrass
and the mint.
In the
classroom, we created a wonderfully, messy, clay animal kingdom. We placed clay
and water together in a large tray and added sticks and seed pods collected
from the garden. The children used their fine motor skills to mould the clay to
create mountains and used water to smoothen the clay out making rivers for the
animals. The children enjoyed this experience and used their imagination
through role play.
The
children had water play early Thursday morning. They had so much fun running
through the sprinkler with their friends.
Hope you
have a great weekend,
Kerry and Liana
