Hello Edgerley friends and family,
and welcome to 2018!
We hope that you experienced
a joyful and restful holiday period, and that you’re eagerly anticipating all
that this new year has to offer.
The children have had a
sensational week in the Edgerley Room, engaging in experiences such as gooey
clay swamps, Mr Oopy’s hilarious bubble show, and creating delicious meals in
our imaginary café.
Here are a few specific
examples of the learning that has taken place this week:
‘This is the Adelaide Oval,
it’s for the cricket… And here is the grandstand, the fielders, the wicket
keeper, the wickets, the batters, and the crowd.’ explained Oliver, as
he carefully constructed a wooden block model with James.
‘I made a forest, but there’s
no dinosaurs in the forest, but because many years ago, now they are extinct.’
stated Ed, as he confidently shared his knowledge with Isaac S
and Brian.
‘See the man I painted? He is
jumping on the moon, and the other man is jumping to another planet. He can do
that, because there’s no gravity in space, and because he is wearing an
astronaut t-shirt.’ said Nicholas Y, as he painted a picture of space
with the rainbow ice-paints.
Please note that on Wednesday
the 17th of January, the children will be given the opportunity to
run around under the water sprinkler. Please ensure that you have a spare
change of weather-appropriate clothes in your bag if your child is attending on
this day.
Much love,
Mr Richards, Miss Jana, and
Miss Gray
