Mattingley

Dear Mattingley Families and Friends,

This week we have been investigating Chinese New Year and how it is celebrated. As part of this Celebration we had the year 10 International Students from the Middle School come and perform a Lion dance for us. It was very loud, a little bit frightening and very exciting. The children were all very brave.

I loved the red lion- Fred
I loved the yellow lion- Lachlan B
It went ROAR! I love the yellow one that done that!- Alice
They jump- Marcel
Pretty scary- Edward
They were just boys pretending- Sam
The lion danced there. It was yellow- Eloise
Raaar- Oscar
Very loud- Daniel

On Tuesday we made pancakes together and shared them to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. We spoke about Easter and how we celebrate with our families.

I get eggs! Chicken eggs- Edith
Pepper Pig eggs- Alice
I have chocolate- Eloise
There's a ballerina in my house. It spins around- Laila

On Thursday we had a special visit from Rusty who brought with him his Monster Truck. He spoke with the children about how he became a Monster Truck driver and how he gets into his truck because it is very big. This lead to some wonderful conversations back in the classroom.

He climbed up to the top- Sam
he climbed underneath- Marcel
It's dangerous- Paxton (that's why Mummy doesn't drive like that)
It's got big big wheels- Fred
I like the monster truck- Jasmine
He wears a hair cap- Chloe (to keep safe)
He ears a helmet- Felix

Phew!! What a busy week we have had!

We would also like to wish Mrs Rocca all the best for her wedding this weekend. She has been married to her wonderful husband Tony for seven years and they are renewing their vows this Saturday. We can't wait to see some beautiful photos on Tuesday Mrs Rocca.
