Dear
Cooper families,
This
week we were lucky enough to have a group of international students from the
Senior School come to the ELC to perform the ‘Lion Dance’ as part of our
Chinese New Year celebrations. We gathered in the Town Square to watch the
performance and played our instruments as the Lions jumped and danced along to
the music.
Henry – We saw a dragon. They
walked.
Zara – There was a lion and a
dragon. They were walking.
Angus – And jumping!
Sebastian Ho. – He was saying hello. Why did
they come to the ELC?
Zali – Because they were doing a
special dance, because it’s Happy New Year.
Harry – I am going to a special
restaurant and the dragon is going to come.
Nicholas Y – It was about dancing – the lion.
Struan – The Lion was dancing.
Byron – There were 2.
Struan – A red one and a yellow one.
Byron – We were playing music.
Joshua – I liked the red one.
Thank
you Ryan for bringing in red envelopes and lollies to give to our class in
celebration of Chinese New Year. They are a symbol of good luck and
fortune!
On
Thursday we had another special visit from Rusty and Al who brought in their
Monster Truck to show the ELC. The class was so excited leading up the visit
that we decided to make our own Monster Trucks in the classroom using our
magnetic connector blocks. The children made some fantastic creations, which we
built on after we had seen the Monster truck in person.
We
hope you have a lovely weekend.
